Old lithuanian project

Description

Buildings in this series were built from early 1960s, and unlike other less common series, these buildings are found in nearly all districts of Riga.
The Lithuanian project is characterised by large-sized panel buildings with five storeys with partition walls made from gypsum concrete. Buildings of  Old Lithuanian project have balconies. Flats in these buildings are compact, which may seem to some too narrow a space, but the average maintenance costs are comparatively lower.

Buildings of this series are mainly located in the districts of Purvciems, Agenskalns, Imanta, Dzirciems, Bolderaja, Ziepniekkalns, Vecmilgravis, Sarkandaugava, Kengarags, as well as in Jugla and in the area of the Botanic Garden.

Pros:

  • Lower average maintenance costs;
  • Lower prices, compared to other similar series;
  • Compact lodging layout;
  • All rooms isolated for three room flats.

Cons:

  • Problems with sound insulation;
  • Problems with heat insulation and damp-proof course.
